Steelcase Flex Active Frames are modular space-planning solutions that shape the structure of open-plan areas without modifying the existing infrastructure.
With a wide range of customizable configurations and technology integration, Active Frames provide shelter, privacy, and space for teams to collaborate, rejuvenate, and do their best work in the hybrid workplace.
All you need to do is select your frame and shelves, determine your level of soft or hard enclosures, and then make it yours. Add doors and locks to create personal lockers or increase the height and width of the structure for more privacy. Include curtains to provide a soft entry into the space or to shelter the area from the surroundings. Integrate cushioned benches to create conversation nooks or add planters to bring a residential appeal to the space. Active Frames configurations can be as unique as your needs.
Activate Your Space for Hybrid Collaboration
With the Media Tower, Active Frames enables better hybrid collaboration. These units support agnostic technology and video conferencing tools to facilitate equitable participation of remote and in-person participants.
The Media Tower enables seamless connections with remote participants and content sharing. Additionally, an optional attached table is available in various shapes. Both the media tower and the table can be specified for either seated or standing height configurations.

Curtains
Curtains are attached to the unit to enhance visual privacy or installed on curtain beams to provide a soft entrance point.
Bench
The straight and curved 1H units with an optional cushion provide a comfortable seating bench with additional storage space for personal belongings.
Curved Shelves
Curved melamine shelves can be paired with straight shelves to create unique C—and S-shaped configurations.
Planters
Integrated planters offer a space for biophilia to be integrated into the frame, bringing a welcome touch of nature inside.
Cushion
The 1H unit with an optional cushion for sitting provides space for personal belongings.
Media Tower Cable Management
Cut-outs in the shelves and base allow to drive cable to the power source. Technology can be safely stored behind a lockable door.
Coat rod
Hang your coat, fabric samples or hanging plants from the optional coat rod.
Bookends
Adding bookends to the shelf keep your books upright and organized.
Cable Management Clip
Cable management clips can be added to the frame when power cords need to be routed through the structure.
Infills
PET or laminate infills can be added to the frame to provide structure, different levels of enclosure and a functional yet decorative aesthetic.
Doors
With a closed storage option, doors help organize the team’s tools and keep work neatly tucked away. A soft fabric pull allows for easy access to essentials while a locking system helps secure personal or confidential items.
Fixed Boards
Pin-tackable, fixed PET boards or fixed markerboards allow the team to collaborate at the structure and display their work. Fixed boards are also available in Melamine finishes.
Board Clips
Detachable board clips can be added to the frame to host Steelcase Flex Markerboards either in vertical or horizontal orientation.
