Steelcase Announces Ology™ with Active Touch and Steelcase® Rise App

Every height-adjustable desk moves. This one reminds you to actually do it.

 

Munich, March 2019 – Steelcase presents a re-designed height-adjustable desk experience that reminds users to move throughout the day and tracks their progress with the new Ology with Active Touch desk and Steelcase Rise app.

Allowing for user-tailored profiles with preset desk heights, the Ology desk – a Steelcase bestseller launched in 2014 – now features an exclusive posture reminder that nudges users to stand up with a subtle motion. Meanwhile, the Steelcase Rise app allows users to create a profile, use preset desk heights on any compatible desk and track their progress over time.

The redesigned desk and Steelcase Rise app come at a time when employee wellbeing is crucial in attracting and retaining top talent – an issue affecting organizations worldwide.

“Stand Up to Work,” a year-long study published in the International Journal of Workplace Health Management, found that height-adjustable workstations are linked to increased productivity, better concentration and improved overall health. According to the study, 65 % of people with height-adjustable desks reported increased productivity and better concentration. The same percentage of people also reported that height-adjustable desks positively impacted their health outside of the workplace, while 47 % of people reported a significant reduction in upper back, shoulder or neck discomfort.

The new Active Touch controller and Steelcase Rise app are the latest additions to the Ology product line, a collection of height-adjustable desking and benching solutions that support the physiology and biology of workers and encourage a more health-conscious environment.

Ology with Active Touch is now available through the Steelcase dealer network in Europe, Middle East and Africa. The Steelcase Rise app is now available through the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
