Ocular table shapes were intentionally designed around 3 key sightlines for people participating in a virtual meeting – people to people, people to screens, people to cameras.
People to people
Conversation and collaboration should feel natural and comfortable between people around a video conference table.
People to screens
When meeting virtually or sharing content, everyone should have a good experience and view of the screen.
People to camera
The room’s camera should capture everyone in the room so that remote attendees can feel connected and engaged.

Ready for Technology
Ocular™ video conference tables were designed to house, route, and mount the technology required in today’s Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and other video-enabled meeting rooms.

Power pods
Weighted power pods connect to cords, keeping them from falling into the table when not being used.
Aperture
A universal aperture opening allows routing access for power, microphones, and controllers for virtual meetings.
Tech Door
A hidden tech door in the drum base keeps technology hidden away.
Mixed materials
A two-tone top on Coupe5 allows designers to specify different finishes to meet any aesthetic.
Angled legs
The table’s front-angled leg allows people to easily sit side-by-side without knocking into a traditional table leg.
Curved shape
The curvature of the Arc4, Arc7 and Arc10 tables ensures maximum visibility of other in-room participants while positioning them at eye level with remote participants.
Integrated power
Pop-up power units support people’s needs for USB-C and standard plug power.
Modesty panel
A modesty panel in front of the Arc4, Arc7 and Arc10 tables keeps everyone’s eyes above the virtual conference table and focused on the conversation.
One-touch join ready
A grommet hole in the center section of the virtual conference table supports a flush-mounted touch controller or additional BYOD cabling.
Hybrid Design for Virtual Meetings
Ocular was co-designed and developed with Microsoft for the Microsoft Teams Front Row experience (pictured above). The focus on hybrid collaboration from its inception means it can benefit other hybrid meeting spaces as well, by using any number of software platforms.
Microsoft Partnership
Steelcase and Microsoft have been working together since 2017 to thoughtfully integrate place and technology to create better meeting spaces, co-design products, and explore how individuals and teams can do their best work during video conferences.

Ocular™ in EMEA has considered both the planet and people, incorporating recycled materials, while also enabling inclusive hybrid collaboration.
For the planet, the structural base of the Ocular™ Coupe and Sightline tables uses optimized melamine materials to minimize waste, and all Ocular™ PET parts produced in EMEA include 30% GRS-certified post-consumer recycled content, coming mainly from bottle flakes and recycled raw materials.
For people, Ocular™ helps remove the barriers between remote and in-room participants through its curved shapes that are designed with camera views in-mind. For those in the room, the legless, drum-style bases deter selective seats and provide everyone with an equal presence and experience.
