Steelcase to Host Gaming GOAT Rodeo Collegiate Esports Competition at Grand Rapids LINC

Eight collegiate esports programs to compete in a one-day tournament highlighting the growing role of esports in education.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., August 27, 2026 — Steelcase will host the third annual Gaming GOAT Rodeo on Oct. 2, bringing together eight collegiate esports programs for a one-day competitive gaming event at the Steelcase Learning & Innovation Center in Grand Rapids, MI.

The event will be streamed live on Twitch [twitch.tv/steelcasestreams] from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern Time, allowing viewers to follow the competition from anywhere.

Hosted by the Steelcase Gaming Community in partnership with Steelcase Learning, the event will showcase collegiate esports talent while highlighting the growing impact of esports on education, student engagement and workforce development. The event is also sponsored by Meijer, Lake Michigan Credit Union, Corewell Health, Alienware Gaming and Red Bull.

The Gaming GOAT Rodeo serves as both a competitive event and an opportunity to explore the role esports plays in education.
