Steelcase Health Strikes Gold at NeoCon

Chicago, Ill. – June 12, 2006 – Opus casegoods, by Steelcase Health, won a Gold award in the Healthcare: Furniture Category in the Best of NeoCon 2006 competition, which recognizes state-of-the-art product design, technological innovation and environmental sustainability. Steelcase Health, a new company dedicated to healthcare environments, introduced Opus, along with 12 other new products at this year’s NeoCon World’s Trade Fair.

Opus casegoods, which combines the convenience of traditional freestanding casegoods with the flexibility of modular furniture, provide a unique solution for the healthcare environment. The array of components combines in a multitude of configurations including storage, seating, display, and even a sink unit to support various activities in healthcare facilities. The design allows for flexibility to adapt over time to changing needs. Components are available in laminate and veneer with hardware choices to complement any décor.

“This product is a testament to the philosophy Steelcase Health is built upon.” said Michael Love, president of Steelcase Health. “We develop research-driven, evidence-based solutions that become integral parts of the healing process.”

Steelcase Health officially launched as a company at this year’s NeoCon, but the company is not new to healthcare. More than two years of research and partnerships with leading healthcare providers allow the company to tailor environmental solutions to specific settings. With a full line supplemented with products from the Steelcase family of companies, Steelcase Health draws on years of experience and proven product lines to deliver effective solutions for healthcare providers.

Sponsored by Contract magazine, the International interior Design Association (IIDA), Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc. (MMPI) and the McMorrow Report, the Best of NeoCon awards recognize the top new products displayed at NeoCon.
