Supportive Environments for Faculty
Palm Beach State College was looking to enhance faculty development and increase student retention and graduation rates by creating an inviting and functional space. With the help of a Title V grant and Steelcase Learning, the team designed the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE) to support the diverse needs of their 700-member faculty. The 7,500-square-foot facility, filled with natural light, comfortable furniture, and bright finishes, aims to foster collaboration, innovation, and success.
The CTLE offers flexible meeting and workspaces, including an active learning studio with high-tech tools, private work pods, and various areas for informal conversations. Lounge areas and a fully stocked coffee bar provide inviting spots for faculty to unwind and connect. The center is designed to provide a comfortable and supportive environment where faculty can grow, collaborate, and enhance their teaching practices to benefit all students.
