When global medical technology company LivaNova relocated to a new office in Singapore, they saw an opportunity to do more than create a new workplace. The move became a chance to create a better experience for its people, one that supports the different ways of working and reflects the organization’s commitment to putting people first.

Rather than simply bringing existing ways of working into a new location, LivaNova took a thoughtful approach to what the workplace could be. The goal was to create an environment that supports wellbeing and the diverse needs of a modern workforce.

Supporting the Many Ways Work Happens

The reality of work today is that not every task can happen comfortably from a desk. While employees have dedicated workstations, LivaNova recognized the importance of providing spaces that support different levels of focus, privacy and collaboration throughout the day.

The new workplace offers a range of settings designed to complement the primary workspace. Privacy work lounges like the Brody provide a quiet retreat for focused work, while Be my guest® offer comfortable spaces for private conversations, informal discussions and moments of concentration without taking employees away from the flow of work.

Recognizing that not every meeting needs a formal conference room, LivaNova also introduced a space designed for stand-up conversations and quick exchanges. These settings make it easier for colleagues to connect, share ideas and resolve questions in the moment, helping conversations happen more naturally throughout the day.

Together, these spaces support the rhythm of the workday, helping employees move seamlessly between different activities and work more effectively.

Designed for Wellbeing and Comfort

When people feel comfortable, they are better able to contribute, collaborate and perform at their highest potential.

That belief guided many of the decisions behind LivaNova’s workplace transformation. Ergonomic furnishings and thoughtfully designed work settings help support movement, comfort and wellbeing throughout the day, creating an environment where employees can work more naturally and with less physical strain.

Height-adjustable desks were introduced to encourage movement throughout the day, giving employees the ability to alternate between sitting and standing based on their needs and preferences. By supporting greater movement and comfort, the workplace helps employees maintain energy and focus throughout the workday.

Privacy was another important consideration, particularly for employees managing sensitive information and confidential conversations. Screens are integrated into individual workstations, providing an added layer of visual privacy. This helps employees focus and reduce distractions in the surrounding environment.

Beyond supporting individual work, the workplace was also designed to encourage interaction and idea sharing. Flex Boards positioned throughout the space make it easy for teams to gather, exchange ideas and capture conversations as they happen, creating opportunities for more spontaneous collaboration and problem-solving.

Every element was considered through the lens of the employee experience, from supporting healthy posture to creating a more organized and seamless work environment. The goal was not simply to furnish a space, but to create conditions that help people feel energized, engaged and supported.
