The Spaces That Shape Us: Inside Meihua’s Workplace Transformation

When space is designed around people, it changes how work feels.

“Office renovation is more than just a physical upgrade. It is about creating a workplace ready for a younger, more international future.”

He JunGeneral Manager of Meihua Group

Just as growth in nature depends on the right conditions, organizations thrive when people are supported with an inspiring environment that fuels communication, collaboration and innovation. Meihua Group, a premier leader in amino acid nutrition and wellness solutions, wanted its workspace to not just be for work, but also actively shapes the people within.

Together with Steelcase, Meihua Group sets out to translate its culture into tangible experiences through thoughtful spatial design. Their values, People grow with vision, Work excels through craft, Enterprise wins with trust, and Collaboration achieves far-reaching impact, are brought to life through the way people move, interact and work within the space.

Through this transformation, Meihua is creating a more contemporary and dynamic campus that is designed to attract and retain top talent, while enabling people to feel more connected, engaged and inspired in their daily work.

From Concept to Reality: The Implementation Journey

At Steelcase, we believe that space shapes behavior. It influences how people think, how they collaborate and how they experience work every day. We placed human-centered design at the core and create a workplace that supports both performance and wellbeing, while embracing Meihua Group’s habitat philosophy. This was our guiding principle that brought to life an ecological work environment that harmonizes nature, humanity, and technology.

Drawing subtle inspiration from the structure and rhythm of amino acids, the design language connects the company’s identity with a more intuitive and human-centric space. More importantly, the workplace was designed to support a range of workstyles, from focused individual tasks to open collaboration.

Building upon the workspace’s natural light and greenery, we refined the functional layers and overall experience through intentional spatial planning and furniture solutions:

  • Created varied agile and efficient work settings that support focus, collaboration and movement throughout the day
  • Improved comfort and concentration through ergonomic solutions and acoustic privacy with height-adjustable desks, acoustic pods, soundproof glass
  • Enabled seamless collaboration with integrated meeting tools and shared spaces
  • Designed informal areas that encourage spontaneous interaction and connection

Every detail weaves in the brand’s culture and identity, contributing to a cohesive and purposeful workplace where nature, humanity and technology coexist seamlessly.
