How might we design environments that optimize the combined capabilities of humans and machines? This is the central question FORWARD fellows are exploring. Supported by Steelcase and the Savannah College of Art and Design, the FORWARD fellowship invited emerging design leaders from the Americas and Europe to Italy. There, they were exposed to a variety of design thinking methods, research on artificial intelligence and new ways of working before embarking on a nearly year-long quest to figure out how space can help solve a wicked problem.
Why does office space go unused? Why can’t people find places they want to work? Steelcase CEO, Jim Keane, joined Sam George, director Microsoft Azure IoT, for a conversation at Microsoft Ignite 2017 about Steelcase Workplace Advisor and Steelcase Personal Assistant — two new technologies harnessing big data to help people and organizations.
Today people are being asked to be more creative and innovative at work. Together, Steelcase and Microsoft have created an ecosystem of technology-enabled spaces to support the creative process.
