Behaviors change when mindsets change, and that happens through the experiences people have at work.\u201d<\/p><cite>Laurent Bernard<span>Vice President, Global Talent Management<\/span><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Steelcase Applied Research and Consulting (ARC) team, which translates insights from extensive Steelcase research into meaningful actions and measurable results working with clients to propel their change efforts, were asked to apply their expertise and assistance to help bring focus and meaning to the Munich Learning and Innovation Center (LINC) project.<\/p>\n<div class=\"social-embed-container video-container\">\n<p class=\"post-video\"><button type=\"button\" class=\"vex-video vex-open has-button\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/P4bO9H7pMq4\/maxresdefault.jpg\" alt=\"LINC Findings\" class=\"video-thumb\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"play-video\" src=\"https:\/\/dumy1g3ng547g.cloudfront.net\/content\/themes\/steelcase\/img\/play.png\" alt=\"Watch the video\"><\/button><script type=\"text\/html\"><\/p>\n<header>LINC Findings<\/header>\n<div class=\"content-well\">\n<div class=\"video-wrap\"><iframe \n\t\t\t\t\t\twidth=\"700\" \n\t\t\t\t\t\theight=\"400\"\n\t\t\t\t\t\tsrc=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/P4bO9H7pMq4\">\n\t\t\t\t<\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/script><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>ARCs engaged with employees from all disciplines from both the Rosenheim and Strasbourg locations, diagnosing their current work experiences through the lenses of space, culture and technology.<\/p>\n<h3>ARC Activities:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>an in-depth culture assessment<\/li>\n<li>workplace surveys<\/li>\n<li>onsite observations<\/li>\n<li>space use analytics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>These explorations uncovered a range of opportunities:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Collaboration<\/strong><br \/>\nEmployees spend half their time working with others.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Distance Collaboration<\/strong><br \/>\nEmployees spend 22 percent of their time working with peers virtually.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Creativity and Innovation<\/strong><br \/>\nOnly 40 percent felt their workplace optimally supported the creative process or encouraged learning.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Decision Making<\/strong><br \/>\nMost wanted to feel more empowered to make decisions.<\/p>\n<p>To pave the way for change, employees from all levels of the organization were invited to workshops where they actively co-created their ideal work experiences using ARC\u2019s proprietary methods and tools. In small groups, they explored how their individual needs related to corporate priorities and how the organization could begin to evolve to close gaps.
