Units:<\/b> Approximately 28,000<\/span><\/p>\n

Description:<\/b> Steelcase is implementing a product safety recall for Flex Mobile Power (FMP) units manufactured between 2019 and May 2022<\/strong>. Flex Mobile Power is designed to stop working when batteries exceed normal operating temperature, but some units produced during this production period may fail to do that and can overheat.<\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, customers should stop using units within this expanded recall immediately. The units should be discharged, turned off and stored in a secure location until they are collected for recycling.<\/p>\n

Based on additional testing and field experience, units from production periods after May 2022 including replacement units provided as part of the first recall should perform normally. These units use a different battery cell than the earlier units that have overheated.<\/p>\n

Every FMP unit has a serial number on the bottom. Only units from the production period (above) and having the following serial numbers (below), are in the scope of this recall and stop use.<\/p>\n

Steelcase will retrieve and responsibly recycle all recalled units manufactured during this period, with new Flex Mobile Power units (for Americas and EMEA) or an Anker alternative solution (for APAC) at no cost to the customer.<\/p>\n

Steelcase customers\u2019 units impacted by this recall are being contacted by their dealer or Steelcase representative directly. If you have not been contacted directly, you can be confident your units are not within the scope of this recall.<\/p>\n
