"Do all the good you can, for all the people you can, for as long as you can. If you did that in life, just think of what could happen."
- Peter Wege, founding family member
Generations of stewardship
As Steelcase founding family member Peter Wege put it, ”Do all the good you can, for all the people you can, for as long as you can.” It’s a commitment that’s played out at Steelcase for generations.
Investing in people and community is as important as investing in the hard assets of bricks and mortar, machines and materials. Collectively and one by one, we have been devoted to efforts that build community and create enduring value for people.
In the Community
Steelcase aims to benefit the communities in which we live and work. Since our founding in 1912, we’ve made community support efforts an integral part of our operations.
Philanthropy
We donate our time, talent and treasure to programs that specifically focus on the things we value most: education, community and economic development, human services, arts and culture, and sustainability.
Phase 2 Program
Our Phase 2 Program assists businesses with end-of-use furniture strategies. We help companies refurbish, sell, donate, or recycle their furniture.
